Mindful Parenting Part 2– Caring for Ourselves is Caring for Our Children

We, as parents, have many responsibilities and time pressures in our lives as we balance family, relationships, work and self care. At the end of the day or week, we can easily feel overwhelmed or exhausted, and feel like we have no time for ourselves. Lack of self care can easily become a habit as we hide behind our busyness and responsibility, slipping into irritability, anxiety or depression.
This 2 hour virtual workshop presents a framework of mindfulness and self compassion in order to learn practical skills to help us drop in to our moments of connection, joy and gratitude, with ourselves and with others. It is open to parents of kids of any age, pre-school to teen.
Objectives:
- To understand empathy, compassion and the trance of unworthiness that affect our ability to connect with ourselves and others.
- To frame our parenting journey as an integral part of our mindfulness practice
- To recognize self compassion and care as a necessary foundation for self acceptance.
- To learn practical formal and informal skills of meditation and self compassion in order to nurture intimacy and connection.
